Personalized AI Backgrounds for Video Calls

Following the launch of AI-generated chat themes in Messenger, we’re introducing AI backgrounds for video calls. These customizable backgrounds allow you to set a tone that matches your mood or adds flair to your conversations.

To create your unique background, tap the effects icon during your video call and choose “Backgrounds” to get started.

Crystal-Clear HD Video Calls and Noise Control

High-definition video calls are now available by default for WiFi users, with enhanced features like noise suppression and voice isolation. These tools minimize distractions and ensure your voice stands out, making virtual conversations feel as real as in-person ones.

Want HD on cellular data? Head to Call Settings and activate “Mobile data for HD video.” Noise suppression and voice isolation can also be enabled through your settings.

New Ways to Leave Messages: Audio and Video

Missed calls no longer mean missed opportunities to connect. You can now leave an audio or video message when a call goes unanswered, letting your friends catch up later at their convenience. Simply hit the “Record message” button to send your message.

Hands-Free Convenience with Siri Integration

Whether you’re multitasking or your phone isn’t within reach, Siri can now help you make calls or send messages via Messenger. For instance, say: “Hey Siri, send a message to Cassandra on Messenger” and dictate your message—it’s that easy.
