Leveraging TikTok for Impactful Giving This #GivingSzn
As a global hub for community-driven entertainment with over a billion users, TikTok offers a unique platform to inspire change and foster meaningful connections. Through creativity, discovery, and community engagement, TikTok empowers individuals to make a real difference in people’s lives.
This year, as we celebrate Giving Tuesday—a worldwide movement dedicated to generosity—and TikTok’s third annual #GivingSzn, we’re unveiling new features that allow users to raise donations for causes they care about. Partnering with Goodstack, a leader in global donations infrastructure, we’re making it easier than ever to support organizations that matter.
Simplified Tools for Seamless Giving
#GivingSzn is TikTok’s yearly initiative that unites creators and communities to back organizations worldwide. With enhancements to our Donation feature, users can now contribute directly to their chosen causes within the app. Whether supporting international nonprofits or local initiatives, creators can select from Goodstack’s verified database of nonprofit organizations.
Creators can customize their fundraisers with personalized names, fundraising goals, cover photos, and heartfelt stories. These updates allow for deeper connections between creators, their audiences, and the causes they champion. Shareable stickers generated for each fundraiser can be used in TikTok videos, posts, and LIVEs to boost visibility and help achieve fundraising goals faster.
Creators Driving Change
TikTok’s community thrives on the spirit of giving back and fostering positive change. By equipping creators with innovative tools, we aim to inspire the next generation of changemakers and leaders tackling pressing social issues. These tools enable users to rally support, amplify awareness, and drive impactful action toward a kinder, more inclusive world.
Here’s a look at how some creators are leveraging TikTok to support their causes:
Deidre Kelly (@the_mrskelly)
A sixth-grade math teacher from Texas, Deidre uses TikTok to share educational content and engage her audience with her passion for teaching. Through TikTok’s Donation feature, she highlights organizations like Black Girls Code, which empowers young women of color to pursue tech careers. She believes this tool can significantly extend the reach of nonprofits, enabling seamless contributions to their missions.
JT Laybourne (@jt_laybourne)
Known for his “Just Think” movement and signature Hat’n’Seek giveaways, JT began fundraising on TikTok after sharing his journey with heart surgery. His efforts with the American Heart Association exceeded his original goal of $25,000, ultimately raising over $1 million. He attributes his success to sharing personal stories that connect deeply with his audience, fostering a community-driven approach to fundraising.
Jesús Morales (@juixxe)
A first-generation Mexican immigrant, Jesús has raised over $500,000 to support local vendors and community members, using TikTok to highlight their stories. His initiatives range from providing cash assistance to gifting trips and cars. By staying genuine and focusing on helping others, Jesús continues to inspire his followers and expand his impact.
Heather Savage (@Savagemomlife)
Heather uses her platform to spread positivity and support causes like Make-A-Wish, raising over $100,000 for the organization. Her recent efforts for Bethany House, a Cincinnati-based homeless shelter, demonstrate her commitment to helping families in need. Heather emphasizes that even small contributions can make a big difference, encouraging broad participation through creative milestones and interactive campaigns.
Terrell Wade (@TheWadeEmpire)
A comedian and actor, Terrell combines humor and relatability to drive engagement in his fundraising efforts. His connection to organizations like the Boys & Girls Club stems from personal experiences, and he recently donated $10,000 to support their programs. Terrell inspires others by showing how collective action can create lasting change.
